Back view (with 2 main PCB Separated)

This single cavity oven control is currently being used by a major appliance manufacturer for mid to high end cooking appliance (free-standing, slide-in and single wall oven models) models.  At initial production release (Spring/ Summer 2006), the control saved the customer approximately 33 % from the control it replaced, and provided significantly more features.  The cost reduction equated to more than a $ 500,000 (US $’s) annual savings for the customer.  This 2 to 4 PCB solution (depending upon the appliance model) provided the following features:

  • Double Wall Oven Control

This double wall oven control is currently being used by a major appliance manufacturer for almost all double wall oven models.  At initial production release (Summer 2005), the control saved the customer approximately 35 % from the control it replaced, and provided significantly more features.  The cost reduction equated to more than a $ 1,200,000 (US $’s) annual savings for the customer.  This 2 PCB solution provided the following features:

  • Electronic Cooktop Control

This electronic control is currently being used by a major appliance manufacturer for high-end cooktop, free-standing, and slide-in models.  At initial production release (Spring/Summer 2005), the control saved the customer significant costs from the control it replaced, and provided significantly more features.  This 2 or 3 PCB solution provided the following features:

    • UL approved component, capable of operating in a 105 C ambient environment.
    • Up to 12 High-Current outputs, and up to 6 cooktop zones for the appliance.
    • Supports up to 6 rotary control inputs or up to a 48 key interface, via a membrane to touch panel.
    • Display output ports, for driving up to 3 seven segment display for the 6 cooktop zones.
    • LIN slave (& Master) ports (2), for communicating to other appliance control modules.
    • Buzzer with Chimes output.
    • 1k of EE2 space, used for model distinction, all operating on a common Flash memory (32k) program.
    • Spare USART and SPI interface.

    Portions Designed:

    • All PCB hardware designs (PIC18F8520 Based design).
    • All PCB layouts (3).
